 MaineDOT to Close the Augusta Memorial Bridge for Inspection

Drivers and pedestrians should plan for detours.

AUGUSTAFeb.13, 2026 — The Maine Department of Transportation (MaineDOT) will be closing the Augusta Memorial Bridge to westbound traffic to perform a routine inspection of the bridge from 9AM to 3PM on February 17th and February 18th.

Drivers and pedestrians should follow detour signs.

Drivers traveling eastbound from Western Avenue will be able to cross the bridge.

Drivers traveling westbound from Bangor Street/Cony Street towards the bridge should take State Street to Bridge Street in order to cross the Lower Kennebec River. 

The inspection is weather dependent and will be rescheduled if the weather does not allow for the inspection as scheduled.
