MaineDOT Announces Temporary Closure of Lower Abagadasset Bridge
The bridge will be closed to all traffic from May 26-May 28.
BOWDOINHAM – May 15, 2026 — The Maine Department of Transportation (MaineDOT) will be closing the Lower Abagadasset Bridge over the Abagadasset River from May 26 to May 28.
Workers will be performing soil borings during the bridge closure. These soil studies are necessary to begin the planning and design of the Lower Abagadasset Bridge Improvement Project.
Drivers and pedestrians should follow the detour map and signs while on site.
Motorists should expect delays and use caution when traveling through the detour zone.
The contractor on this project is Seaboard Drilling of Bangor, Maine.
The contract amount is $37,378.00.
