Kittery - The Maine and New Hampshire Departments of Transportation will be initiating the closure of one northbound and one southbound through lane on the I-95 Piscataqua River Bridge between Portsmouth, NH and Kittery, ME beginning Thursday morning, April 27th.
The set-up for the closure is scheduled to begin on Wednesday evening, April 26th.
During this lane closure, an inspection of truss members will be conducted as well as other inspection and annual maintenance efforts.
The lane closures will also serve as a test for traffic control during the upcoming bridge rehabilitation efforts that will begin in 2018. Travelers are advised to consider alternate routes or allow additional time to travel.
The Departments asks that all motorists be patient, reduce speed, and exercise added caution when traveling near and throughout this work zone.
The closed lanes will reopen Monday evening, May 1st.
