Intersection Safety Improvements in Newburgh

Newburgh ? Safety improvements will begin on Monday, August 13th at the intersection of Route 69 and 202/9 in Newburgh, starting with the mobilization of their equipment on site. Tree and brush removal will take place for four days in anticipation of the intersection improvement work.

On August 20th, crews will be flattening the slopes at the intersection, as well as removing guardrails to extend sight distances. This daytime work will be performed for approximately six to seven weekdays. Flaggers will assist motorists through minor delays.

On August 27th, crews will pave approximately 500 ft of this intersection for two to three days, as well as install a new flashing beacon to alert drivers approaching the area. During this time, motorists will be assisted by flaggers through alternating one-way traffic.

The contractor for this project, at the intersection of Route 69 and 202/9 in Newburgh, is Gardner Construction Enterprises of Bangor.
