Portland ? Crews will perform mostly overnight intersection improvements in Portland at the intersection of Congress Street and Westbrook Street, also known as the Stoudwater area, beginning on Wednesday, August 3rd.
The improvements include new foundations, mast arms, signals and curb ramp detectable warning devices.
The exact locations are as follows:
The work on the west end of Westbrook Street is 188ft. from the intersection.
The work on the east end of Westbrook is 140ft. from the intersection.
The work on the south end of Congress Street is 158ft. from the intersection.
The work on the north end of Congress Street is 173ft. from the intersection.
Monday through Saturday lanes will be restricted to alternating one-way traffic from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. on Congress Street westbound.
Alternating one-way traffic will be on Congress Street eastbound from 7:00 p.m. until noon the next day.
It is anticipated all work will be completed by the end of November, 2016
This work will help improve safety in the area for motorists and pedestrians.
A.D. Electric of Sabattus will perform this $156,000 project.
