CANAAN, Maine ? The Haskell Bridge on Route 23 in Canaan reopened today, two days ahead of schedule. The bridge closed on August 1 and was scheduled to be closed for 14 days.
Crews had closed this portion of Route 23 in order to replace the two large, deteriorating steel culverts, and replaced them with a concrete box culvert which is expected to last for approximately 80-100 years.
The Haskell Bridge on Route 23 in Canaan is located approximately halfway between Route 2 in Canaan and Route 201 in Hinkley.
