Hanson Bridge Replacement in Palmyra

PALMYRA- The Maine Department of transportation is replacing Hanson Bridge which carries traffic along Saint Albans Road over Smith Brook in Palmyra. The existing bridge will be replaced with a concrete box culvert. The work area begins at Warren Hill Road and extends to Spring Hill Road. Work is scheduled to begin on July 6th and is scheduled to be finished by late October. Drivers can expect a single-lane of alternating traffic through the project area, though at times the roadway will need to be closed, and a detour will be in effect that uses Warren Hill Road through Hartland and St. Albans to Spring Road. The detour route will be marked. The contractor on this project is Sargent Corp. of Stillwater, Maine.
