Gorham, Maine ? Motorists traveling on Route 22/114 (County Road) in Gorham need to be aware of road reconstruction with alignment, drainage and safety improvements on October 26, 2011. The project begins west of the intersection with the Burnham Road and extends east. It also extends south westerly down the Burnham Road.
The drainage improvements start on October 26, 2011 and will continue through mid December as weather allows. The roadway rebase and paving will resume in April 2012. The anticipated completion is slated for late June 2012.
The majority of the drainage improvements this Fall will be done during daylight hours while maintaining two way traffic. Minimal night time work may be required. Much of the Spring 2012 construction will require lane closures and therefore will be conducted at night generally between 8:00pm and 6:00am.
The project has an estimated cost of about $600,000 and will be constructed by Shaw Earthworks, based in Gorham.
