CULVERT REPLACEMENT IN APPLETON TO START MONDAY, JUNE 28

An approximately two-mile section of Routes 105/131 in Appleton will be temporarily closed next week to allow Maine Department of Transportation (MaineDOT) crews to replace two cross-culverts. The road closure is scheduled to begin at 5:30 a.m. on Monday, June 28. Assuming that the work goes as planned, the road will be reopened by the end of the day on Thursday, July 1.

While the closure is in effect, a detour that utilizes West Appleton Road and Ridge Road will be in place to carry through-traffic, while local traffic will have access from the north and south ends of the work area.

The culvert work is being performed in preparation for a maintenance surface paving treatment that is planned for this section of roadway in August.

MaineDOT officials appreciate the patience of residents and motorists while this work is being done, and as always, request that motorists use caution and observe signage while traveling in the work area.
