Augusta ? Crews will be repairing a culvert on Route 105 in Augusta, approximately one-half mile east of Cony Road. Because of unexpected delays, the project has now been scheduled to start on Monday, September 17th.
This portion of Route 105 that runs over Riggs Brook will require alternating one-way traffic, with flaggers assisting motorists traveling through the area. This stretch of road will re-open to two way traffic in the evenings and overnights.
Repairing the culvert while it remains structurally sufficient will eliminate the need for a full culvert replacement, which would result in a much greater construction cost and impact on the traveling public.
This work, being performed by Farley & Son, Inc. of Rockland, is anticipated to be completed within the first two weeks of October.
