Motorists who utilize I-95 from Augusta to Houlton should be aware that MaineDOT maintenance crews will be striping both the northbound and southbound portions of the highway starting Monday, June 14 and continuing through the week.
Crews will begin striping north of Augusta, and then will continue northward. Crews will be striping I-95 from Augusta to Bangor, then crews will stripe I-395 in the Bangor area, and then I-95 from Bangor to Houlton. All striping will be done during daylight hours. Striping operations are heavily dependent on weather, and schedules or work areas can change due to rain.
Drivers can still use any of the above portions of the interstate while crews are painting, but they should be aware of possible slowdowns, lane changes, and fresh paint.
