EDMUNDS TOWNSHIP, Maine ? Starting Monday, August 22, MaineDOT will be closing a portion of the South Edmunds Road in order to repair a culvert that was damaged last December in a storm that dumped close to seven inches of rain in portions of Washington County.
The South Edmunds Road also accesses Cobscook State Park from Route 1. Those wishing to visit the park typically access the park from the southern end of the South Edmunds Road. During construction, park visitors can access the park from the northern end of the South Edmunds Road, one mile north. Temporary signs will mark the detour and guide visitors to the park.
If the culvert replacement proceeds as planned, construction is expected to be completed by Friday, August 26.
