Augusta ? Construction crews will return to Route 202/Western Avenue in Augusta beginning on Tuesday, April 21st.
The project consists of highway reconstruction and pavement preservation. Additionally, there are box culvert and closed drainage replacements, utility work consisting of water main, sewer improvements and gas main installations.
While the majority of the work was completed last season, this season?s work includes completing the curbing and guardrail installation. Sidewalk areas will be constructed and paved as well as loam and seeding the lawn areas. Raised median islands will be constructed and the roadway paving will be completed.
During peak commuter hours, there will be there will be alternating lanes available to move traffic through smoothly. One-way alternating traffic will be controlled by flaggers during nighttime hours.
This $3.8 million project, performed by R.J. Grondin & Sons of Gorham, is anticipated to be completed by the end of June, 2015.
