Construction to Close Pleasant Hill Road in Sabattus

Sabattus ? Crews will be reconstructing 0.42 of a mile of Pleasant Hill Road in Sabattus as well as repairing a slope failure along the westerly side of the road beginning on Wednesday, May 4th.

Due to its deterioration, it has become necessary to close Pleasant Hill Road. A detour route will follow Route 9 to Route 126 for a total distance of 1.7 miles. Signage and message boards are in place to alert and direct motorists through the detour route. Access to the ballfields and the transfer station will remain available from the south and north ends of Pleasant Hill Road throughout the duration of this detour.

The condition of Pleasant Hill Road has been deteriorating over the years and is currently in construction. After construction started on the project earlier this year, the condition of the slope to the west of the roadway deteriorated rapidly. To construct the road and ensure the safety of the traveling public, it has become necessary to close the roadway while the slope and portions of the roadway are being constructed.

The construction and detour route will take place from Wednesday, May 4th through Saturday, June 18th.

This $700,000 project is being performed by Crooker Construction, Inc. of Topsham.
