WESTBROOK, Maine ? Starting next Friday, August 26 at 7 a.m. construction crews will close Bridge Street in Westbrook in order to install a rail line crossing.
Bridge Street will be closed from the intersection of Cumberland Street to the intersection of Myrtle Street in Westbrook. Crews plan to close the intersection at 7 a.m. on Friday, August 26, and reopen the intersection by 7 a.m. on Sunday, August 28.
Motorists will be directed to a signed detour that includes Cumberland Street, Brown Street and Myrtle Street during the detour.
In order to assist motorists and keep traffic moving efficiently, there will be police officers stationed at the intersections of Cumberland and Brown Streets, and Brown and Myrtle Streets from 6 a.m. until 7 p.m. on Friday, August 26 and Saturday, August 27.
The rail crossing installation is part of the Mountain Division Rail Line project which is restoring 5.25 miles of the rail line in Westbrook.
