Portland ? Due to the dredging operations in Portland Harbor, Cashman Dredging of Quincy, MA has requested, and has been granted permission for additional openings of the Casco Bay Bridge between Portland and South Portland.
Cashman Dredging will make every effort to schedule these openings outside of the morning commute of 7:00 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Starting tonight, February 7th through February 13th, there will be up to four additional openings within a 24 hour period. These are in addition to the normal opening operations when marine traffic passes under the bridge.
From February 14th through February 21st, random openings may occur as work requires.
From February 22nd through February 26th, there will be approximately eight additional openings within each 24 hour period.
After February 26th, the balance of the work will be away from the Casco Bay Bridge.
This schedule may change based on factors such as weather, mechanical repairs or other unforeseeable delays. These openings are necessary to move the dredged material out to sea. It is anticipated all operations will be completed by the end of March.
