How to Help

For Landowners & Loggers

Your low-grade timber can provide essential warmth for your community. Many wood banks rely on donations of:

  • Log-length firewood from active harvest sites.
  • Tree-length wood delivered to processing yards.
  • Slab wood or processing byproducts.

Note on Tax Incentives: We are currently working with state partners to clarify potential tax benefits for donating standing timber or wood products. Please check back for updates or consult your tax professional regarding charitable non-cash contributions.

Volunteer & Donate

Most wood banks are volunteer-driven. Assistance is often needed for:

  • Splitting and stacking wood.
  • Delivering wood to clients.
  • Equipment maintenance.
