Forester’s Institute

Credits available for the spring 2020 NER.COFE webinar presentations

For those who were not able to join live for the NER.COFE presentations that were held this past spring, it is still possible to view the archived presentations and receive CEUs.  After watching each half-hour presentation, there will be a survey at the end for you to complete.  The survey will provide Ray Berthiaume, NER.COFE Chair, with your information, which he will in turn provide to Cindy Paschal at the University of Maine School of Forest Resources. Ms. Paschal will email your certificate(s) for the presentation(s) you completed.

The 5 presentation links are listed here:

Ray Berthiaume has confirmed there will be four more presentations scheduled for this fall.

What is the Forester's Institute?

In 2008 the Maine Forest Service launched a new series of educational programs for Maine Licensed Foresters.  Called the Forester’s Institute, its objectives are to provide topical and interactive sessions for Maine Licensed Foresters; delivered on a regular schedule and at low or no cost.  Workshops are generally offered in two geographic locations, as well as webinar formats.

Workshop topics are identified by the needs of Maine Licensed Foresters - determined by on-line surveys and workshop evaluations.  Workshops are announced via MFS Foresters (sign up box to the right) and Woods Wise list-serves and are posted on the Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry website.

We continue to explore ways to expand workshop locations, as well as the incorporation of  emerging distance education options and alternative workshop formats.
