Fall Forestry Workshop 2018: BMPs to Protect Water Quality - New Limerick

This workshop will focus on controlling the flow of water in harvest blocks and on forest management roads. It will include indoor presentations and demonstrations at field sites.

8:00 Introduction and BMP presentation focusing on controlling the flow of water

8:45 Indoor demonstration of the SFI flume table.

9:15 Travel to field site #1

9:30 Field Site #1: Placement and installation of water bars on skid trails. An SFI EZ Bar will be installed using a cable skidder.

11:00 Field Site #2: Basics of assessing forest management roads and water flow controls at stream crossings.
