SPRINGFIELD - The Maine Department of Transportation will be installing vehicle count sensors on Route 6, approximately one mile northeast of Townline Road. Work is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, July 13th. The westbound lane will be closed to traffic at 8:30 a.m. for approximately four hours. Work will switch to the eastbound lane in the afternoon, closing that lane to traffic for approximately four hours. All work should be finished by the end of the day. In the event of rain, we will push the schedule to Wednesday, July 14th. These sensors allow MaineDOT to accurately classify and count the number of vehicles using this road throughout the year.
