CUMBERLAND AND SAGADAHOC COUNTIES - The Maine Department of Transportation is working to improve the safety on both the northbound and southbound sides of Route 1 through Brunswick, West Bath, Bath, and Woolwich. This project involves paving, drainage, and safety improvements along a more-than-five-mile-long stretch of road. The work area begins at the Cook's Corner interchange in Brunswick and extends to the Bath Viaduct. The project includes the Sagadahoc Bridge, the ramp at New Meadows Road, and the ramp at Congress Avenue. This work will be done overnight. Drivers should expect single-lane traffic patterns. The contractor on this job is Northeast Paving out of Bangor. The project should be finished by August 2020.
