Bath/Brunswick ? On Monday, October 19, 2015, bridge work will begin on the Route 1 on the northbound and southbound sides of the bridge passes spanning the New Meadows River and at the Route 1 southbound on/off ramp bridge pass at Cook?s Corner.
Motorists should expect daily lane closures on Route 1 between the New Meadows exist and Cook?s Corner exit between the hours of 6am ? 6pm, Monday through Saturday. The lane closures will continue through completion of the project in mid-November.
Wyman & Simpson, Inc. of Richmond has been awarded the $84,400 contract for this project. It includes replacement of the bridge joint seals to help prevent water off the roadway from getting to the steel superstructure and substructure components of the bridge. This work will help to ensure protection of the bridge components for the life of the bridge.
