SOMERSET COUNTY - The Maine Department of Transportation will be doing work on two segments of Route 201 in Madison and Skowhegan beginning Monday, July 28. This project will improve roadway condition, slope, and drainage. There are two project locations. The first begins at the intersection of Routes 2,201, and 104 and extends north 0.1 miles. The second project location begins at High Street and extends north 1.75 miles. Work is scheduled to be completed by June 2026. Portions of the work will be performed during the daytime while other portions of the work will be performed during nighttime hours. Work performed overnights will be between at 7:00 P.M. and 7:00 A.M.. Work performed during the day will occur between 6:30 A.M. and 6:30 P.M.. Two-way traffic will be maintained through the project areas, though some delays should be expected. The contractor on this project is Gordon Contracting of Sangerville, ME. The contract amount is $6,280,217.00.
