Road Surface Work in Franklin and Somerset Counties

FRANKLIN AND SOMERSET COUNTIES - The Maine Department of Transportation will begin work to maintain the surfaces of Routes 2 and 4 in Franklin and Somerset Counties on July 22nd. This work is scheduled to be finished by August 8th. The work will begin on Route 2 in Mercer. Crews will begin sealing cracks about one-third of a mile east of Claude Brewer Road. The work area will extend approximately seven miles east to Upper Main Street in Norridgewock. Once work is finished on Route 2, crews will begin sealing cracks on Route 4. That work area begins one-fifth of a mile north of Adams Circle in Farmington and extends north for nearly four miles. Drivers should expect periodic lane closures during this work. Sealcoating, Inc. out of Braintree, Massachusetts is the contractor on this work.
