Overnight Route 1 Northbound Ramp Closures in Brunswick

BRUNSWICK - The Maine Department of Transportation will be closing the northbound on ramp to U.S. Route 1 from Cressey Road to Route 1 North on August 20, 2025, from 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM and the northbound on ramp from Route 196 to Route 1 North. 

Drivers headed to Route 1 northbound via Cressey Road should use Main Street to Mason Street, Water Street, and Cressey Road as these roads will remain open to all traffic.

Drivers headed to Route 1 northbound via Route 196 should remain on Main Street until it intersects with Bath Road, then take Bath Road to destinations south of the ramp closure.

The ramps will be closed with signs and cones, and traffic will be expected to use the next available exit. 

This closure is part of an ongoing highway rehabilitation project. The project area begins 0.17 miles east of Cushing Street and extends east 3.02 miles as well as 0.70 miles west of Old Bath Road and extends west 3.39 miles. The project area includes all approaches and ramps. This project consists of highway rehabilitation, pavement milling, hot mix asphalt overlay, and safety improvements.

The contractor on this project is Coastal Road Repair of Westbrook, Maine. The contract amount is $15,544,396.25.
