Overnight Ramp Closures on Route 1 in Bath

BATH - The Maine Department of Transportation will be paving ramps along Route 1 in Bath during overnight hours this week. Between 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 21st and 6:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 22nd, we will be paving the Route 1 northbound off-ramps at High Street and Congress Avenue. Between 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 22nd and 6:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 23rd, we will be paving the Route 1 southbound off-ramp at Congress Avenue and the northbound State Road on-ramp. Like all outside construction work, this schedule is weather-dependent. We need to close these ramps during paving operations because of the size of the equipment and the safety of the traveling public and workers. Closing the ramps allows us to do this work more effectively in order to minimize ramp closures. Detour routes will be marked with signs and message boards.

This ramp work is part of a larger paving project on Route 1 that stretches more than five miles from the Cook's Corner Interchange in Brunswick to the Bath Viaduct and Sagadahoc Bridge. Northeast Paving is the contractor on this project. The current contract amount is $17,062,959.
