MACHIAS - The Maine Department of Transportation will be holding an open-house format meeting in Machias on Tuesday, September 14th. The meeting will be held on the causeway from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The purpose of this meeting is to discuss the history, status, and regulatory requirements of the feasibility study related to the Machias Dyke Bridge. Members of the public will be able to interact with, ask questions of, and provide comments to members of MaineDOT as well as to our federal counterparts and consulting partners. We are particularly interested in learning local views, discovering local resources, and identifying local concerns and issues. If this open-house event cannot be held on the causeway due to weather or other factors, it will be relocated to the Machias Memorial High School at 1 Bull Dog Lane in Machias. MaineDOT will comply with Maine CDC health and safety guidance, which is subject to change based on the status of the pandemic.
