More Overnight Ramp Closures on Route 1 in Bath

BATH - The Maine Department of Transportation has scheduled more overnight paving work on ramps along Route 1 in Bath for later this week. Between 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 30th and 6:00 a.m. on Friday, July 31st, crews will be paving the northbound off-ramp at Congress Avenue, the northbound off-ramp at High Street, and the northbound on-ramp from State Road. The High Street ramp will remain open until the Congress Avenue off-ramp reopens. The ramps need to be closed during paving operations due to the size of the equipment and the safety of the traveling public and workers. Closing the ramps during operations will allow the work to be done more quickly. Detour routes will be marked with signs and digital message boards. Like all outside construction work, this schedule is weather-dependent.

This ramp work is part of a larger paving project on Route 1 that stretches more than five miles from the Cook's Corner Interchange in Brunswick to the Bath Viaduct and Sagadahoc Bridge. Northeast Paving is the contractor on this project. The current contract amount is $17,062,959.
