MaineDOT to Temporarily Close Ouellete Road in Cross Lake
Drivers should plan to use the detour route.
CROSS LAKE– September 14, 2026 – The Maine Department of Transportation has closed Ouellette Road for up to 21 days for a large culvert replacement project of Sullimond Brook Bridge over West Fork Dickey Brook.
The project location is 0.91 of a mile north of Route 161.
Drivers will need to take Flat Mountain Road to Route 162/Main Street and then Sinclair Road to get back to Route 161/Caribou Road.
Detour signs are in place to guide motorists through the detour route.
Work is expected to be completed by fall 2026.
The contractor for this project is Ed Pelletier & Sons of Madawaska, Maine.
The contract amount is $452,150.00.
