MaineDOT to Perform Routine Inspection of Piscataqua River Maine Approach Bridge
Drivers should plan for lane closure on I-95 northbound and southbound.
AUGUSTA- May 8, 2026 — From May 11 to May 14 and May 18 to May 21, the Maine Department of Transportation (MaineDOT) will begin a routine safety inspection of the Piscataqua River Maine approach bridge in Kittery.
This inspection will require shoulder closures on I‑95 northbound and southbound from 8:30 A.M. to 4 P.M on the specified days.
Motorists should expect reduced speeds during the lane closure times.
The project work extends for approximately 2,000 feet on I‑95 northbound, beginning just south of the Maplewood Avenue underpass in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, and continuing across the Piscataqua River Bridge into Kittery.
The contractor for this project is VHB Inc. of South Portland, Maine.
The contract amount is $156,239.24.
