Light Poles Being Removed from Penobscot Bridge

Bangor ? Today, crews are removing the light poles from the Penobscot Bridge which links Bangor and Brewer and spans the Penobscot River.

One lane will be closed on either side of the bridge at a time. Motorists should use caution when traveling over the bridge.

The sidewalk will remain open for pedestrians.

The deteriorated light poles are being removed, with new poles to be installed at a later date.

This one-day project is expected to be completed by 6:00 p.m. today (Monday, September 26th).
