DIXFIELD - The Maine Department of Transportation will be replacing a box culvert under Durrells Mills Bridge, which carries Norton Road over Newton Brook in Dixfield. The project area is just west of the intersection of Norton Road and Main Street (Route 2). Work is scheduled to begin on August 10th. Between August 19th and September 5th, temporary traffic signals will control an alternating, single-lane traffic pattern on a temporary detour roadway. Oversized loads and tractor-trailers will not be allowed. We expect this culvert replacement project will be fully completed in October. The contractor on this project is Pratt & Sons out of Mechanic Falls. The contract amount is $767,646.
