Bridge Preservation Work on I-95

AROOSTOOK & PENOBSCOT COUNTIES - The Maine Department of transportation is performing painting and bridge preservation work on three bridges along I-95: 


•    Etna: West Etna Road over I-95 north and southbound at mile 163.
•    Newburgh: Route 69 over I-95 north and southbound at mile 174.
•    Island Falls: I-95 exit 174, southbound bridge over B&A Railroad and Old Patten Road, located at mile 276.


This work will remove the existing paint and replace it with a three-coat paint system. Work is scheduled to begin on Thursday, July 10 and is anticipated to be completed by late November of this year. Drivers can expect a single-lane of travel through project areas. Work on interstate bridges will be performed between 8 P.M. and 6 A.M. Some daytime work may be required outside of these hours. The contractor on this project is Omega Coatings and Construction LLC of Palm Harbor, Maine. The contract amount is $1,303,260.00.
