MaineDOT Assisting Maine CDC with Outbreak Investigation

AUGUSTA - The Maine Department of Transportation is assisting the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention with its investigation of a COVID-19 outbreak associated with MaineDOT's Region 3 office in Wilton. Maine CDC defines an outbreak as three or more cases with epidemiological links. This outbreak investigation includes five confirmed cases. As part of its work to limit further transmission, Maine CDC is investigating whether transmission occurred within or outside the facility and is conducting contact tracing.

All employees at this office can effectively telework and have been doing so since November 12th - the same day MaineDOT conducted a thorough cleaning of the Wilton office. All MaineDOT facilities and job sites have robust precautions in place to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. The affected employees do not have routine interactions with members of the public.
