Special Services for Inclusion Resources
Procedural Manual - The Department, in collaboration with a group of special education administrators, developed this manual as a resource for educators looking for guidance in the proper use and interpretation of the Maine state required forms. Currently containing sections covering the IEP, Written Notice, Summary of Performance, and Form for the Determination of Adverse Effect on Educational Performance, the Manual, when completed, will include a section for each of the required forms.

- Adapted Physical Education - Adapted physical education is a comprehensive service delivery system established to assure that a child with a disability and identified needs has an appropriate physical education program.
- Endrew F - The Endrew case delivered a landmark ruling that clarified the substantive standard for determining whether a student’s IEP—the centerpiece of each child’s entitlement to FAPE under IDEA—is sufficient to enable a student with a disability to make progress appropriate in light of his or her circumstances.
