Section 80, Pharmacy Dispensing Fees: Final Draft Rate and Comment Summary
The final draft rates and a summary of all comments are available on the MaineCare Rate System Reform webpage. The comment summary includes the Department’s responses, with an explanation of whether and how feedback was incorporated into the final draft rates. MaineCare considered all public input received. We thank all those who contributed.
Background
- MaineCare initiated this rate determination in December of 2024.
- Later in December of 2024, vendor Meyers & Stauffer surveyed Maine pharmacy providers on the cost of delivering services.
- In May of 2026, we held a virtual public kickoff meeting for interested parties. We reviewed project goals, the scope of work and presented draft rates with rationale for public comment.
- Following the public presentation of draft rates, we accepted written comments through the deadline of June 10, 2026.
The new rates will now move through the legislatively mandated rulemaking process.
