Jun 23, 2022
Home Health Soft Launch
This message is another reminder about the Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) “soft launch” period for providers of section 40 Home Health and section 43 Hospice services ahead of the January 1, 2023 federal implementation deadline that was originally announced August 13, 2021.
The soft launch period for Home Health services will start July 1, 2022. Starting this date, Home Health claims with dates of service July 1, 2022 or later will pend for up to three days while searching for a matching EVV record and then process to pay unless denied for another reason. Please see our e-message from June 9, 2022 for a table that explains the three day pend process.
The June 9th message also has more information about the soft launch period for Hospice services.

MaineCare Member Letter About EVV for Section 40 Home Health and Section 43 Hospice Services
MaineCare sent a letter about EVV to all members who receive Home Health or Hospice services. We hope this letter will be helpful in explaining what EVV is, why it is required, and what members need to do.
We also have updated the member FAQ. Both documents can be found on our Member Resources webpage.
