Stakeholder Group Meeting: Nursing Facility Reform Transition Fund

Pursuant to Resolve 2025, Chapter 157 the Department of Health and Human Services is convening a group to examine the use of the Nursing Facility Reform Transition Fund, established under P.L. 2023, Chapter 643, Part SSS. The first meeting will be held on August 31, 2026 at 3:00 PM through Zoom. Meetings are open to the public.

The group must submit a report to the Maine Legislature’s Joint Standing Committee on Health and Human Services no later than January 15, 2027, addressing the following: 

• Nursing Facility Reform Transition Fund expenses to date;  

• Plan for spending the remaining funds;  

• Cycle for rebasing reimbursement rates; and  

• Use of the fund to pay for cost-of-living increases for staff pay compared with the use of other funding sources for other cost-of-living increases for direct care services.
