Section 65 Medication Management Code Changes
New Codes
Beginning May 16, 2025, mental health and substance use agencies must use the following code modifier combinations to bill for medication management:
- H2010 – adult services
- H2010 HA – children’s services
Appropriately licensed substance use agencies and mental health agencies may deliver medication management for a range of medications based on the rendering provider’s scope of practice. For example, substance use agencies may be qualified to deliver medication management for other medications in addition to suboxone and mental health agencies may be qualified to continue to deliver medication management for substance use disorders.
Retired Codes
The Department will no longer use the following:
- Suboxone-specific medication management code-modifier combinations - H2010 HF and H2010 HF AF
- Physician-specific medication management code-modifier combinations - H2010 AF and H2010 HA AF.
