Section 19 Home and Community Based Services for Older and Disabled Adult Caregivers, Training Opportunity Available

The Office of Aging and Disability Services in collaboration with the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Maine, is excited to announce a virtual training opportunity on Mental Health First Aid scheduled for May 1, 2023. This training is for caregivers providing care to members receiving services under Section 19 of the MaineCare Benefits Manual. Caregivers can include personal support staff, attendants, home health aides, nurses or other natural and family supports.  

Mental Health First Aid for Caregivers teaches participants skills to respond to aging adults struggling with mental health challenges. This training leads to a 3-year certification issued by the National Council for Mental Wellbeing. 

Registration is limited to 25 participants.  

When: Monday, May 1, 2023 

Time: 8:30AM-3PM EST 

Cost: FREE
