Section 18, Home and Community Based Services for Adults with Brain Injury Rate: Additional Services Identified for Removal of Service Provider Tax (SPT) CR 141031
Effective August 1, 2026, MaineCare updated certain Section 18 reimbursement rates to reflect the removal of the SPT, in alignment with P.L. 2023, Chapter 412, Part XXX. Please see our September 2024 e-message for more information.
The services listed below were mistakenly overlooked when the Department originally identified documented add-on amounts associated with the SPT.

Adjustment Billing Guidance for Dates of Service August 1, 2026 – August 6, 2026
- Providers are responsible for adjusting claims submitted with charges below the new rates. Per policy, and to avoid timely filing denials, adjustments must be submitted within 120 days of the most recent claim payment date.
