REVISED Rate Letters: Section 67, Nursing Facilities (NF)

Effective January 1, 2026, MaineCare revised the NF rate letters to reflect the application of the 1% cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) to both the direct and routine care comparison rates, prior to the application of the guardrails. While all providers will receive a new rate letter showing the updated calculations, not all providers will see an increase in their rate. This depends on where the previous comparison rate was in relation to the direct hours per day (HPD) and routine care state-wide price. Please see line 3 of your rate letter to determine if the rate has changed.

Additionally, the bariatric care add-on has been updated to reflect the same 1% COLA.

Updated rate letters may be accessed on the secure Health PAS Online Portal. An updated fee schedule is also available.

We will send notice once these new rates are implemented for billing.
