Adrienne W. Carmack, MD, FAAP
Adrienne W. Carmack, MD, FAAP, began serving as the Medical Director of the Office of Child and Family Services of the Maine Department of Health and Human Services in March 2020. In this role she offers clinical support to the state Child Welfare system, as well as Children's Development and Behavioral Health, and Childcare. Dr. Carmack continuesto work part-time at Penobscot Pediatrics, part of Penobscot Community Health Care (PCHC), an FQHC in Bangor, Maine, where she has worked since 2007.
Elissa Wynne, MSW
Elissa Wynne, MSW, is the Associate Director of Children's Development and Behavioral Health Services at DHHS, Office of Child and Family Services (OCFS). In her role she is responsible for the overall leadership and strategic direction of early care and education and children's behavioral health systems in Maine. She obtained her MSW from University of Maine in 2007. Elissahas years of experience serving children and families through child welfare, children's behavioral health, Head Start and childcare. She has spent the bulk of her career working within OCFS to strengthen the system and enhance child and family well-being in Maine.
Learning Objectives

Gain overall knowledge of a Behavioral Health System of Care, including the strategies and goals of the system in Maine

Increase awareness of services available through Children’s Behavioral Health and how to access these services for the families and children they serve – for example Help Me Grow, ECCP, Home and Community Based Treatment, Crisis services, and treatment for adolescent SUD.

Prepare healthcare providers with tools and resources to stay informed on behavioral health, mental health initiatives and services available for children and adolescents in Maine.
