Attention Section 30, Family Planning Agency Services, Alternate Payment Model (APM): Draft Rate and Service Model Public Review and Comment

In November of 2022, MaineCare provided notice that we had initiated a rate determination process for Section 30, Family Planning Agency Services, Chapter II & III of the MaineCare Benefits Manual (MBM). We are developing a family planning agency APM to reflect a team-based, patient-centered, integrated care model. This message outlines the next steps in this redesign process.

Public Review and Comment

On November 20, 2023, MaineCare, in coordination with its vendor Manatt Health Strategies, LLC., will host a public rate forum for interested providers and stakeholders. We will present the recommended draft service and rate models, along with the rationales. Stakeholders will have the opportunity to provide public comment during this forum.

After the forum, the Department will post the presented models online, accept written comments through December 5, 2023, and will respond in writing to those comments with an explanation of whether and how the feedback was incorporated into the final rate determination.

As providers and interested stakeholders, your feedback is important, and we encourage you to participate as we work to design this new family planning reimbursement model and rate reform.

Please contact Jessica Levesque, MaineCare’s Project Manager for the Rate Reform Unit, with any questions related to this reimbursement model and rate study reform process.

This notice is sent pursuant to P.L. 2021, Ch. 639.
