Attention Providers of Section 65, Behavioral Health Services, Crisis Resolution and Response: Draft Service Model and Provider Survey Tool Presented Materials

Last fall, MaineCare formally noticed that we initiated a rate determination for Section 65 Crisis  Resolution and Response services. The Department’s vendor , Burns and Associates is conducting this rate determination. We kicked off this work in May of 2022. On February 24, 2023, DHHS held an online public meeting for interested stakeholders to present the proposed redesigned team-based mobile crisis service model. In addition, Burns and Associates presented a data collection process and an overview of the survey tool for provider feedback.

Burns and Associates will distribute the survey tool to providers for additional feedback and once finalized, they will formally release it. Soon after, they will schedule one-on-one interviews with current Crisis Resolution providers for more detailed input. We will consider the data collected from the surveys and interviews as well as many other factors when developing the reimbursement methodology and corresponding rate to support this new service model. The Department will hold another public forum to present a final proposed service model and rate for public review and comment at a later date before moving to the full rulemaking process.

As Providers and interested stakeholders your feedback is important during the service model and rate determination process. We encourage you to participate.

The presentation materials and a recording of the February 24, 2023 meeting can be found on our Rate System Reform webpage
