Downtown Camden Improvements

CAMDEN - The Maine Department of Transportation and Town of Camden will be making sidewalk and drainage improvements to Elm Street (Route 1) in Camden. The project area begins at Union Street and extends north approximately one-quarter of a mile, just past Bay View Street.

Our work may begin impacting traffic on October 26th. Construction operations will stop during the winter months and resume in the spring. Our estimated final completion date on this project is June 11th, 2021.

Slope Stabilization Work Along Route 140 in Canton

CANTON - The Maine Department of Transportation will be conducting slope stabilization work along Route 140 in Canton. The project area begins about a half-mile east of Canton Point Road and extends west for about one-third of a mile. Work is scheduled to begin on October 26th and wrap up for the winter by November 25th. We will return in the spring to continue the work. Flaggers will control traffic. This project is necessary because the bank is eroding, and we need to move the road alignment away from it. The contractor on this project is Pratt & Sons, Inc. out of Mechanic Falls.

Paving Work on Route 202 in Manchester

MANCHESTER - The Maine Department of Transportation is performing paving work and making other safety improvements on Route 202 in Manchester today and tomorrow. Drivers should expect lane closures between 6:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. The project area begins at the Manchester/Winthrop line and extends east for a little more than one mile. The contractor on this project is All States Asphalt out of Richmond. The contract amount is $1,026,575.

Kingfield Highway Rehabilitation

KINGFIELD - The Maine Department of Transportation will be performing highway rehabilitation work along part of Routes 16 and 27 in Kingfield. The project area begins at the intersection of High Street and extends north for approximately 2.3 miles, ending three-quarters of a mile north of Tufts Pond Road. This project involves paving work as well as drainage and safety improvements. We will also be replacing and adding sidewalks.

UPDATE: Hampden Bridge Bundle Overnight Road Closure

UPDATE: This closure will now happen between 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 10th and 5:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 11th.

HAMPDEN - The Maine Department of Transportation will be closing Emerson Mill Road to traffic at the I-95 bridges on Monday, November 9th as part of the ongoing construction work on the Hampden Bridge Bundle Project. The road will close at 7:00 p.m. and reopen at 5:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 10th.

Overnight Road Closures in Hampden

HAMPDEN - The Maine Department of Transportation will be closing Emerson Mill Road to traffic at the I-95 bridges as needed between now and Friday, December 4th. This is part of the ongoing construction work on the Hampden Bridge Bundle Project. The overnight road closures will happen between 7:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. No closures will be happening over the holiday weekend (from Wednesday, November 25th to Sunday, November 29th).

MaineDOT Assisting Maine CDC with Outbreak Investigation

AUGUSTA - The Maine Department of Transportation is assisting the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention with its investigation of a COVID-19 outbreak associated with MaineDOT's Region 3 office in Wilton. Maine CDC defines an outbreak as three or more cases with epidemiological links. This outbreak investigation includes five confirmed cases. As part of its work to limit further transmission, Maine CDC is investigating whether transmission occurred within or outside the facility and is conducting contact tracing.
