Emergency Guardrail Repair on I-295

PORTLAND - The Maine Department of Transportation will be conducting emergency guardrail repair on the southbound side of I-295 on Friday. The work area will be at mile marker 9 - north of Veranda Street. This repair work is necessary because of last Friday's tractor-trailer crash. Crews will be working from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and the work will close the right-hand lane on the southbound side. Main Line Fence of Cumberland is the contractor on this job. We ask that drivers please use caution while passing by this work zone.

MaineDOT Releases New Three-Year Work Plan Amid Funding Challenges

AUGUSTA - The Maine Department of Transportation has released the 2020 Edition of its Three-Year Work Plan. This Work Plan includes all capital projects and programs, maintenance and operations activities, planning initiatives, and administrative functions for calendar years 2020, 2021, and 2022. It includes 2,051 individual work items with a total estimated value of $2.59 billion.

Ohio Street Bridge Replacement over I-95 in Bangor

BANGOR - The Maine Department of Transportation is replacing the Ohio Street Bridge, which carries Ohio Street over I-95 in Bangor. Demolition begins this month and will continue through April. The new bridge will be open by September 2020. During demolition and construction, local traffic, including pedestrians, will be detoured. After the new bridge opens, there will be alternating one-way traffic with flaggers until the project is completed this fall.

Bridge Work along I-95 in Hampden

HAMPDEN - The Maine Department of Transportation will be replacing eight bridges and rehabilitating a ninth bridge on a four-mile-long stretch of I-95 in Hampden. These bridges are almost 60 years old and are approaching the end of their useful lives. This project will affect traffic on both the northbound and southbound sides of the interstate between mile markers 176 and 180. Several of the bridges carry I-95 over Souadabscook Stream. One carries the interstate over Emerson Mills Road. Another carries Cold Brook Road over the interstate.

Downtown Wiscasset Traffic Signal Testing

WISCASSET - The Maine Department of Transportation will be conducting more traffic signal work in downtown Wiscasset on February 26th and 28th. The purpose of this work is to test the functionality of the new signals. This work will be happening at two signalized intersections: Main Street (Route 1) Middle Street as well as Main Street (Route 1) and Water Street. Signal testing will be happening from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. each day. We ask that drivers remain alert as they're passing through this area.
