Updated Overnight Restrictions on I-295 in Falmouth

FALMOUTH - The Maine Department of Transportation is continuing to work on the Lunt Road Bridge in Falmouth. The bridge carries Lunt Road over I-295. During the weeks of August 11th and 19th, Lunt Road will be closed to traffic between 10:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. beginning Sunday night and ending Friday morning. Drivers should follow marked detour routes. During the week of August 11th, I-295 will be restricted to one lane northbound and one lane southbound from 10:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. beginning Sunday night and ending Friday morning.

Work on Route 106 in Livermore Falls

LIVERMORE FALLS - The Maine Department of Transportation will be conducting culvert, drainage, and paving work along Route 106 in Livermore Falls. Work is scheduled to begin on August 19th and be finished by September 15th. The work area is just north of the south entrance to Strickland Loop Road. Route 106 will be closed to through traffic at the work site; vehicles will use Route 133 as a detour. Manter Construction of Maine, Inc. of Sidney is the contractor on this job.

Railroad Bridge Work in Aroostook County

ASHLAND - The Maine Department of Transportation is working to strengthen the railroad bridge in Ashland that crosses over Sheridan Road and the Aroostook River. This project is one of two aimed at allowing increased speed and weight across the entire MaineDOT-owned rail line in Aroostook County. The Ashland bridge, which is officially named the Madawaska Subdivision over Sheridan Road and Aroostook River, is approximately one mile north of the intersection of Sheridan Road and Route 11. Work is scheduled to begin on August 14th and be finished in Fall 2020.

Oxford County Bridge Construction

WATERFORD - The Maine Department of Transportation will be replacing the bridge deck of the Horrs Bridge in Waterford. The bridge carries Valley Road (Route 35) over Crooked River. The work area is about one-third of a mile southeast of the Albany Township line. Drivers should expect one-lane traffic during construction. This job is scheduled to begin on August 12th and should be finished by November 30th. The contractor is BMB Construction LLC of Holden.

MaineDOT Seeks To Distribute $3 Million in VW Settlement Funds

AUGUSTA - The Maine Department of Transportation is seeking to distribute approximately $3 million in Volkswagen environmental mitigation settlement funds. This money is what's remaining in the Appendix D-2 Eligible Mitigation Action category. An eligible party still operating a vehicle with a diesel engine from 2009 or earlier may receive between 25 and 80 percent of the base price of a new vehicle through this settlement fund.

Work To Resume on Route 27 in Belgrade Lakes

BELGRADE - The Maine Department of Transportation will be resuming work on Route 27 in Belgrade Lakes on Tuesday, September 3rd. Crews will be working on the sidewalks, lighting, paving, and landscaping. The tentative dates for final paving are September 16th and 17th. The completion date for this project is October 19th. Drivers should expect an alternating, single-lane traffic pattern while crews are working. The contractor on this job is Pratt & Sons, Inc. of Mechanic Falls.

Lubec Bridge Closure

LUBEC - Beginning September 8th at 5:00 p.m., the Mays Bridge on Route 189 in Lubec will be closed for ten days. Crews started work to replace the bridge on August 26th. During the ten-day-long closure, traffic will be detoured from Route 189 to Timber Cove Road and Crows Neck Road. Trucks and RVs will follow a signaled detour on Route 191. Once the bridge reopens, there will be a single-lane alternating traffic pattern for approximately another three weeks while the work is being finished.

Week-long Road Closure in Falmouth

FALMOUTH - Beginning Monday, September 9th, Gray Road (Routes 26 and 100) in Falmouth will be closed for seven days. Crews will be installing a new culvert under the road just north of the Winn Road intersection. This work requires full road closure through Sunday, September 15th. Homes and businesses will be accessible but only from either side of the closure. No through traffic will be allowed.
