Route 1 Paving Work in Brunswick and Bath

CUMBERLAND AND SAGADAHOC COUNTIES - Next week, the Maine Department Transportation will be doing paving work on Route 1 in Brunswick and Bath. This is part of an ongoing project that begins at the Cook's Corner interchange and extends east more than five miles to the Bath Viaduct. This project also involves the Sagadahoc Bridge, which carries Route 1 over the Kennebec River between Bath and Woolwich. Next weeks work will involve overnight ramp closures (from 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.). These closures help with safety and allow the work to be done more quickly. Detour routes will be marked. Like all our work, the timeline of this project is weather-dependent. Right now, we plan to work Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday nights. The contractor on this project is Northeast Paving. The total contract amount is $17,062,959.
