SNAP Outreach

What is SNAP Outreach?

SNAP outreach aims to increase awareness of the SNAP program, combat stigma, and provide support for individuals and families applying for SNAP. The Office for Family Independence (OFI) contracts with community-based organizations to offer SNAP outreach services across Maine.

SNAP Outreach services include:

  • One-on-one application assistance
  • Eligibility pre-screening
  • General information-sharing about SNAP
  • Tabling at local community events
  • SNAP training for community partners

See our current list of SNAP Outreach contractors below and contact the organization directly to learn more about the SNAP outreach services they provide.
